Peter Porte discusses starring in the new Hallmark rom-com “The Love Heist” where he stars opposite Lyndsy Fonseca.
The synopsis is: Celebrity stylist Kayli must team up with hotel security chief Mills to track down an iconic piece of fashion history after it goes missing on her watch before the Chicago Costume Gala.
On starring in this film, Porte remarked, “It was great! I am so happy to be working with Hallmark again. This was such a fun movie. I hadn’t done a mystery before with them. So, that was a real treat.”
Working with Lyndsy Fonseca
On working with Lyndsy Fonseca as his leading lady, he exclaimed, “It was amazing! I also got to reunite with Kevin Fair, our director, who I had done two other movies with. So that was awesome! It felt like a family reunion.”
“Working with her was everything! She’s gorgeous, she’s great, so funny and smart as a whip. Not only was she able to memorize all that material, she came in and approached each scene with different ways, and she made it that much better. She is just so smart,” he said.
Playing Mills in ‘The Love Heist’
On playing his character Mills, he said, “I liked that he was very assertive, and that he was so rigid and by the book… so that was a nice character arc. When you meet him, he doesn’t know movie references. When he experiences going to a party, he wears something other than navy or black, so that is satisfying. I think this was the most fun I’ve had with that character.”
Lessons learned from the screenplay
On the lessons learned from the screenplay, he shared, “It taught me that I should say ‘yes’ to things. If I am given an opportunity and it’s something that is a bit challenging or unfamiliar, then I should jump and say ‘yes’ and accept the invitation.”
Stage of his life
On the title of the current chapter of his life, he revealed, “I think to continue with the theme of this movie, that I should say ‘yes’ to as many things as I can.”

Porte had great words about Melissa Peterman. “Melissa is the best,” he exclaimed. “Getting to work with her was a dream come true, but then having her as my best friend is a little slice of heaven. She is the absolute best!”
“Not only is she an incredible friend but she has the biggest heart in Hollywood. Every night she is doing a charity event for free, where she raises millions of dollars for the people that need it. She is too good,” Porte elaborated.
Message for his fans
For his fans, he expressed, “Thank you for watching me do something a little bit different. We are not doing a Christmas movie, and it has been a second since I’ve done a rom-com with Hallmark, so thanks for tuning in. I really hope you are going to enjoy it. I feel very confident about this one. This was so much fun. They let us do so much comedy, which I think the audience will enjoy.”
