Acclaimed actor Walt Willey (“All My Children”) sat down with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos and spoke about starring in the new movie “Death on the Brandywine,” which was written and directed by Nick Wilkinson. Willey plays the role of Daniel Riley.

The synopsis is: After a prominent politician is declared dead by suicide, his daughter enlists her partner to investigate. Their search unravels a lethal tangle of family secrets and political betrayal that someone is desperate to hide.

On starring in this film, Willey said, “I’m an actor who likes to work. I thought this was interesting role! I like what I do, and if I get a chance to do it, I’m going to do it.”

Willey was drawn to playing Daniel Riley because he was an “island of sensibility in the middle of nonsense.” “I meant to keep his values,” he said.

On the lessons learned from the screenplay, Willey said with a sweet laugh, “It taught me that I wouldn’t want to be a senator and have a family like that.”

For fans and viewers, he expressed about “Death on the Brandywine,” “Sometimes, the apple falls far from the tree, and then somebody sticks razor blades in it.”

In “All My Children,” Walt Willey played Jackson Montgomery, who became the adoptive father to Reggie Porter Montgomery, the troubled teen character portrayed by Michael B. Jordan.

Willey expressed how proud he was of Michael B. Jordan and his Oscar win for “Best Actor” for playing twins in “Sinners.” “I was so proud. I let him know immediately,” he said. “Listen, you knew Michael was going to be fantastic because when ‘Fruitvale Station’ hit, and he moved out West, the first thing he did was move his mother out as well.”

“When you get that big, that high, and that quick, as Michael did, you need to have an anchor there. If you don’t have something solid who knows what might happen? Michael was smart enough to know that,” Willey concluded.
