Jesse Burgess chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about hosting second season of Apple TV’s culinary docuseries “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars.”
The eight-episode second season will premiere globally on Friday, September 25, 2026 exclusively on Apple TV with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Friday through November 6, 2026.
On hosting this show, he exclaimed, “It has been fun! It was a real whirlwind. We did a lot of traveling around the world, which was very exciting!”
“Hosting the show was great. It was very exciting to delve into more people’s stories again. There is no shortage of some very hardworking, incredible people chasing this dream. So, to have the opportunity to profile more of those stories and show them to the world was a real privilege,” he acknowledged.
On being a part of the digital age, he said, “What a time to be alive! It’s exciting to be able to make a video, put it online, and reach a lot of people, which we could never, ever have done that before. More of us can reach the whole world in an instant than we ever have done before. So, it feels pretty exciting.”
On the lessons learned from hosting this show, he shared, “I really like seeing the different wildlife at each location we go to. I mean, food is exciting. I’m very lucky with London having so many different cultures and regions all in one place. I enjoy traveling around.”
“When I was in Brazil, I saw a hummingbird just literally by my hotel, just buzzing around going these things that I that was even rare in Rio de Janeiro. I never thought I would see this bird ever. So I learned a lot about myself. I love those kinds of things,” he observed.
On the title of the current chapter of his life, he said, “Further food discovering and just working on becoming a better storyteller.”
Regarding his career-defining moments, he shared, “I think timing. I think the fact that I started making the ‘Best of London’ series in early 2023, when people were consuming more short form content than other, and it was a very simple format that introduced me, my knowledge, my enthusiasm to a lot more people. That was a very pivotal moment.”
On his definition of the word success, he said, “Success means getting up in the morning excited about what the day has ahead.”
For his fans, he expressed, “This show has been a very wonderful and enjoyable opportunity to be a part of. I would like to know the following from the fans: Where do they like to eat? What is your culture? What got you into food?”
