German actor and model Fabian Arnold chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about his new book “RAW&HONEST: A 60-Day Workbook for Self-Reflection, Healing & Personal Growth.”
What inspired you to write this new book?
After writing and releasing Broken Boy, I got a lot of feedback from readers, especially about the self-reflection questions throughout the book. A lot of people told me they saw themselves in my stories, my thoughts, and even some of my struggles.
I think I wanted to find a way to build a bridge between Broken Boy and RAW&HONEST, where instead of only sharing my own experiences, I could help readers reflect on their own lives and figure things out for themselves.
So RAW&HONEST basically takes it one step further. It moves away from simply telling my story and instead asks the reader the questions, giving them the space to find and write down their own answers.
How is it similar or different than “Broken Boy”?
I think the biggest difference is the format. Broken Boy is my personal story. It’s about my experiences, my struggles, and the things I learned along the way. RAW&HONEST, on the other hand, is a 60-day workbook that puts the focus entirely on the reader and their own life.
At the same time, the two books are very connected and complement each other in different ways. Broken Boy shares my journey, while RAW&HONEST gives you the space and questions to explore your own.
What inspires you as a writer and author?
3) What inspires me are stories I see in real life and things in the world that I would like to change for the better. Movies and books are kind of my outlet to express my feelings and my message, and hopefully help make a difference in some way.
I think a lot of it also comes from my own emotions and feelings. Finding a way to express what I’m feeling inside and then being able to release that into the world really inspires me.
What do your plans for the future include?
Right now, I’m working on my third book, which I hope I’ll be able to release in December. It will be an additional piece to RAW&HONEST and continue some of the ideas behind it.
I’m also flying back to L.A. to film a new series, a college football series, which I’m really excited about. And besides that, I’m just trying to continue working in the industry, keep creating, and enjoy what life has to offer.
How are things going with Vertical Drama Merch?
Vertical Drama Merch is continuing to grow. We release new products and add new people on the 15th of every month, so we have another drop coming up soon. It’s all going really well so far, and I’m excited to see how it continues to develop.
How did it feel to be a part of Luke Charles Stafford’s “Against the Wall” premiere and launch of Dream United Studios?
Luke is one of my close friends from L.A., and I’m really proud of what he’s doing with his production company and with releasing his short film. I think being able to support people who have similar interests, ideas, and goals is a really important part of what we’re doing.
We all know how hard it is to get something started and actually bring an idea to life, especially in this industry. So, being able to be there for him, support him, and celebrate what he created meant a lot to me.
What would you like to say to your fans?
First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been supporting me, my journey, and all the creative things I’m working on. It really means a lot to see people being excited about what I’m doing and what’s still to come.
I have so many things planned, and hopefully it’s all going to work out. So I really appreciate every single person who is supporting me, helping me, and being part of this journey. It truly means a lot.
What’s the one thing you want people to get out of this book?
I think the one thing I want is for people to finish RAW&HONEST and be able to say, “This really helped me.” Whether it helped them understand themselves better, reflect on certain parts of their life, or figure something out that they’ve been struggling with.
If someone closes the book and genuinely feels like it helped them in some way, then I think I achieved what I wanted to achieve with it.
