Australian performer Justin Leo chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos. He shared where he finds his motivations, and spoke about performing for Magic Men Australia.
How long have you been with Magic Men Australia?
So far, I’ve been with Magicmen since 2016, so I guess that’s about seven years. I started as a topless waiter, but quickly learnt I wanted to be a male entertainer on Main stage
What do you love most about Magic Men Australia?
There’s so much to love about this industry, but there’s no team out there in the whole world that has the same camaraderie than what our boys bring to the table! and that’s one of the main reasons as to why I’ve stayed loyal to this crew for so long
I used to serve in the Australian military for six years from 2015 and I’m not gonna lie. It was a very stressful career that I didn’t have a passion for . So when it came to the weekends magicmen fuelled my happiness. I was ready to face my full-time career.
What’s it like working with Will Parfitt, Ceaser Smith, Carlo Powell, Sean Wepener and the other guys?
As most of these guys are located in Melbourne the only times I get to see them are on our interstate tours. We are a close family so when we catch up on these tours it feels like we pick up where we left off the closest Bonds I share are with the Magicmen Sydney crew, namely, Beau, Andrew, Rudi, Davey, Marquiss, Dante, and Jonathan.
We have such amazing performers and are a force to be reckoned with as a whole company.
Can you tell us about your upcoming tour/show dates ? What can we expect?
On April 28, I will be performing at Club Forster, on May 5th at Goulburn, and on May 11 and 12, at Emerald and Rockhampton.
With so many tours and shows coming up I’m so excited to announce I’ll be on the above shows.
Every show has so many amazing people to meet and greet. I couldn’t pick and choose my favorite, but I’m looking forward to being on the Emerald and Rockhampton tour with Sean and Carlo.
What motivates you each day as a performer?
My motivation to perform back to back shows, as stressful as it can be, other smiles that I can place on each and every single individual in that room. If I can make someone smile, that has made my day, and that’s all I can ask for.
How does it feel to be a dancer and performer in the digital age? (Now with streaming and technology being so prevalent)
Being a dancer in this digital age, Definitely motivates me just become a top performer. The one everyone speaks about highly. There is so much talent out there that you can never be the best of the best. Everyone has their own style and unique visions. I love it all it gives me determination, drive and self-worth.
What does the word success mean to you? (My favorite question)
Success is within setting goals, no matter how small or large they may be, I strive to become a successful performer to tour around the world, a successful businessman to become financially stress-free and a successful person with loving caring attributes and qualities. If I can achieve all this with happiness in my heart that is my be all end all dream.
What would you like to say to Magic Men Australia fans and supporters?
Honestly without your endless love and support, Magic Men would never be in the shoes that we are today. I can’t wait to meet as much of you as possible and I look forward to creating many amazing memories with you all.
