Academy Award winners Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett are the latest supporters to jump on the bandwagon for “To Leslie.” They both sang praises for lead actress Andrea Riseborough and her marvelous performance in “To Leslie.”

She most definitely deserves an Oscar nomination for “Best Actress,” at the very least. Kate Winslet proclaimed it as the “greatest female performance on-screen” that she has ever seen in her life, and she added that Riseborough should be winning all of the awards for it.

Cate Blanchett gave Riseborough a shout-out in her acceptance speech at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards.

Others that have expressed their support for Riseborough and her grassroots Oscar campaign include Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Jane Fonda, Gwyneth Paltrow, Susan Sarandon, Helen Hunt, Frances Fisher, Patricia Clarkson, Minnie Driver, Rosie O’Donnell, Mira Sorvino, Meredith Vieira, and Courteney Cox, among others.

The movie, directed by Michael Morris, stars Andrea Riseborough as Leslie Rowlands, Allison Janney as Nancy, Marc Maron as Sweeney, Andre Royo as Royal, James Landry Hebert as Pete, Owen Teague as James, and Stephen Root as Dutch. This film is the little engine that could.
