Katelyn Rose chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about starring in the new ReelShort vertical drama “Her Man is the Son of Death,” where she worked opposite Shay Dinneen.
The synopsis is: Lucas Thorne (Shay Dinneen), a powerful demigod disguised as a beggar finally finds love with a mafia heiress (played by Katelyn Rose) who accepts him at his lowest—but when danger closes in, he must reveal his true identity to protect her, risking the secret he was bound to keep.
It is interesting to watch Olivia and Tessa navigate the “love potion.”
On her filming experience, she shared, “This vertical was incredible! We filmed in Canada, which was my first time leaving the country… ever in my life. So it was definitely an experience. It was so much fun.”
On playing Olivia, she remarked, “I like that she had everything handed to her. Olivia’s whole life was set out for her, and laid out by her family. She still chose to do the right thing and follow the right people rather than what she has been given her whole life.”
She had great words about her leading man Shay Dinneen. “Working with Shay was great,” she said. “Shay is such a good person, and he is very fun to work with. We had a wonderful time. We literally became friends right away once we saw each other at the airport.”
On the lessons learned from the script of “Her Man is the Son of Death,” she stated, “Well, this was one of the more recent times I’ve played the damsel in distress that verticals love. So, I was able to explore a lot of that acting side of myself and test myself with the tears and everything that I didn’t know I was able to do until I was actually on set.”
“So, finding that side of myself was a lot of fun,” she acknowledged.
