Hollywood actor and producer Taye Diggs is taking Microhouse Films global, bringing the mobile-first storytelling platform to MicroDramaFest 2027 in India. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.

Diggs will officially attend the festival as a headline celebrity guest, where he will showcase Microhouse Films and its approach to the rapidly expanding world of vertical entertainment.

Best known for acclaimed projects including Rent and All American, Diggs co-founded Microhouse Films earlier this year alongside producers Autumn Federici, Shelby Stone, James Black and Troy Brookins.

The platform was created to champion mobile-first storytelling and provide creators with opportunities to develop entertainment specifically designed for audiences consuming content in portrait mode.

Microhouse Films is among the first industry Apps/Platforms to join forces with MicroDramaFest, the international festival dedicated to the rapidly expanding world of micro dramas, ahead of its inaugural gathering in India, on January 29, 30 and 31, 2027 at the legendary Palace Hotel TAJ, Agra.

The collaboration comes as MicroDramaFest continues building an international lineup of micro drama actors, creators, executives, platforms and production companies who are helping shape the next chapter of mobile-first entertainment.

Among the micro drama talents expected to attend are Cayman Cardiff, Eric Guilmette, Jeff Violette, TJ Wilk, Steven Morana, Tess Dinerstein and Rebecca Berg just to name a few recognizable faces from across the rapidly growing vertical entertainment ecosystem.

The talent will join filmmakers, producers, studios, platforms, investors and brands from around the world for three days of screenings, fan conversations, networking, content discovery and an awards GALA.

MicroHouse Films’ involvement marks one of the festival’s early industry collaborations and further strengthens MicroDramaFest’s goal of creating a global meeting place for the companies and talent actively building the micro drama category.

“Our festival is about bringing the global micro drama community together – from the actors fans recognize on screen to the creators, studios and platforms behind the stories. We’re excited to have Microhouse Films lead by Taye Diggs and Troy Brookins to be part of our inaugural festival in India.” said Jay Kamdar, Founder MDF.

“We are thrilled to welcome Microhouse Films as one of the first companies to join us on this journey and we all share the same vison to make our Stars to Fans concept a reality!” said Rick Young, Co-founder MDF.

With international talent and companies converging in Agra, MicroDramaFest aims to provide a dedicated space for an industry that is quickly expanding beyond its mobile-first roots and attracting increasing attention from the broader entertainment business.

Additional talent, participating companies, speakers, screenings and programming will be announced leading up to MicroDramaFest in January of 2027.
