Carol Kirkwood, 58, has been the main BBC Breakfast weather presenter for over two decades and she has become a fan favourite. As part of her role, the forecaster travels the country to give her report against the backdrop of some spectacular conditions. However, on Wednesday, the BBC star was left feeling deflated as being the meteorologist on hand meant she was put outside in the rain as her co-stars Dan Walker, 44, and Louise Minchin, 52, were sat in the warm, dry studio.
Throughout the morning, the team had been speaking to Carol from the Tower of London and she went from standing bravely in the outdoors without any cover, to holding an umbrella and putting the hood of her coat up.
It was during her last handover to the presenters in Salford that Carol made the comment as they noticed how wet she looked.
With the rain pelting down behind her, Dan said: “Thank you, Carol. It’s been very nice to see you on this wet Wednesday.
“The hood is up and you’ll be wandering around the Tower later on,” he continued as the meteorologist explained how she really felt.
“I feel bedraggled,” she shared as she spoke about her role, with Dan telling her she was looking “as lovely as always”.

Louise also thanked Carol for reporting in the rain before the final weather segment of the show was brought to an end.
No matter what other role she is taking on or what conditions she is presenting in, the forecaster has huge admiration for her job.
The meteorologist explained: “I love my job. I love the weather and the fact that no two days are ever the same.
“But my interest in weather was accidental; it wasn’t something that I set out to pursue. I just wanted to work for the BBC.”
“So, when I was 12, I wrote to Blue Peter asking if I could come and be a presenter,” the forecaster continued.
“They kindly replied to say that I was too young, but that I should go back to them with a degree,” Carol added.
However, although her path into her career was accidental, the presenter admitted she was “fell in love” with the job instantly.
“I was asked to do BBC Breakfast News and I love it, as I get to go out on location, meet so many people and show off our beautiful country,” she told The Windsor Magazine.

The weather presenter was also at the Tower of London to reveal the name of the baby female crow nested on site.
After a poll was put to viewers over what to call the bird, the forecaster explained an overwhelming majority voted for Branwen.
Delighted with the news, Carol replied: “What a beautiful name,” but those viewers watching at home thought otherwise.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “Thank you @BBCBreakfast for covering the most important thing happening in the UK! I’m overwhelmed.”
A second posted: “Seriously? I really need to stop paying the license fee or the @BBCNews needs to stop pretending they are a news organisation.”
Whilst a third commented on the social media platform: “I think you forgot what the Tower Of London’s really there for.”
“Brilliant news – great minds think alike,” a fourth shared, taking a different perspective on the news.
Carol took to her official Twitter account, also, to share images of her visit to the Tower of London in view of her 204,700 followers.
