Lyndsy Fonseca chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about starring in the new Hallmark movie “The Love Heist,” which will premiere tomorrow on Saturday, June 20th.
The synopsis is: Celebrity stylist Kayli must team up with hotel security chief Mills to track down an iconic piece of fashion history after it goes missing on her watch before the Chicago Costume Gala.
On being a part of this rom-com, she exclaimed, “It was so fun. Oh, what a dream job. I smiled and laughed the entire time. It was truly a dream come true.”
Playing Kayli in the film
On playing her character Kayli, she remarked, “I liked that she starts off in the film very afraid to shine and believe in herself and as the film goes on, she has, whether she likes it or not, is faced with a lot more responsibility. She sort of fakes it till she makes it. She eventually shows how she is her own unique individual self and jumps into the role of a lead stylist and helps this crazy situation unfold. It’s sort of a girl believing in herself and watching her blossom, really.”
Working with Peter Porte
On working with Peter Porte as her leading man, she remarked, “Oh, my God. Isn’t Peter a dreamboat? I had a very hard time. I had to look at him every day.”
“It was really hard and awful,” she jokingly laughed. “We didn’t know each other previously, and we hadn’t met. On our first day after flying all day and landing in Vancouver and meeting for the first time, we immediately had a dance rehearsal for a couple’s romantic dance with a choreographer. So, that was very good breaking the ice. We were then holding hands and our bodies were close after we said ‘nice to meet you’. Actually, it turned out really good.”
Working with Hallmark
On doing this project with Hallmark, she said, “Well, I don’t think we could have done this movie without Hallmark. This film simply doesn’t exist without Hallmark. I mean, rom-coms are not really made that much anymore. This movie has a little bit of everything… comedy, a mystery, and a love story. It is nothing without Hallmark.”
Lessons learned from the screenplay
On the lessons learned from the screenplay, she reflected ,”I think that things will just happen unexpectedly, and we have got to roll with the punches. It was a good reminder of that.”
Stage of her life
On the title of the current chapter of her life, she revealed, “Celebration.” “Let’s go and celebrate,” she admitted.
Superpower of choice
If she were to have any superpower, it would be to “heal people immediately.” “With just one touch, any ailment or hunger would go away,” she said.
Success
Regarding her definition of success, she said, “Success means happiness… true friends, family, as well as honest, meaningful and truthful relationships.”
Message for her fans
For her fans, she expressed, “I hope they laugh, and I hope they fall in love with Peter Porte with me.”
Closing thoughts on ‘The Love Heist’
She remarked, “Well, the fans should definitely lock up anything valuable in their home so it doesn’t get stolen. Being in Kayli’s clothes, like her wardrobe as a stylist, was really empowering because she did not dress for the male gaze.”
“Kayli really dressed for herself and for the fashionistas out there. I think there is something to be said about more women just not caring about trends and what is sexy, just dressing for the things that make them feel good, no matter what,” she concluded.
