Actor George Krissa chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about his upcoming original film “The Holiday Sitter,” which will premiere on Sunday, December 11 on the Hallmark Channel.

In “The Holiday Sitter,” Sam is a workaholic bachelor who babysits his niece and nephew before the holidays when his sister and her husband have to go out of town. Completely out of his element, he recruits help from their handsome neighbor Jason and finds himself in an unexpected romance.

“My character is very close to me personally. He is a small-town guy, he is a contractor, and he puts his family first. All of the guys in Hallmark movies are pretty wholesome and I like that. He knows what he wants, and he is for family and for love, and he keeps things simple,” Krissa said about his character.

On being a part of “The Holiday Sitter,” Krissa said, “It was wonderful. It was important for a lot of reasons, and it was so much fun. For me, personally, it was exciting to have my first lead for the Hallmark Channel, and for it to be the first rom-com of its kind is really exciting.”

Krissa had great words about working with Jonathan Bennett. “Everyone in the world knows who Jonathan Bennett is because most people love ‘Mean Girls’ outwardly or secretly.’ I’ve known who he was since I was young. I didn’t know what to expect but I wasn’t disappointed. Jonathan is so funny, supportive, and wonderful on set. He really keeps a good and positive energy on set. It was great to work with him,” Krissa said.

He also enjoyed working with veteran executive producer Maura Dunbar. “I love Maura, she was fantastic. She has such a great eye for what she wants and what she is looking for and how to keep things in line with Hallmark’s vision. It was a master class working with her, she is such a pro,” he said.

For fans and viewers, Krissa said, “I hope that people see that there is a seat at the Christmas table for everyone. Families look different in a lot of ways and they are all just as wonderful, loving, and valid, especially at Christmastime where everyone is welcome and all of these stories are welcome.”
