2024 Paralympic gold medalist Hunter Woodhall spoke with Markos Papadatos at the 2026 USA Track and Field Championships, which took place at Randall’s Island in New York.

On the greatest lesson that the sport of track and field has taught him, he reflected, “It taught me to be resilient! Honestly, have fun! You can’t control a lot of things that happen, so just enjoy what you’re doing. It makes it worth it, either way.”

On the title of the current chapter of his life, Woodhall revealed, “Thick as Thieves.” “We are still ‘Thick as Thieves… just me and Tara. We are trying to pave our own way and make the sport a better place, and leave it better than we found it,” he explained.
“Tara is my dawg… We stay tight, keep connected, and good things keep happening,” he added.

On his career-defining moments, Woodhall shared, “Every moment has defined me… the good and the bad! I have learned the most from so many of those negative and adverse moments… they help prepare you for the big moments, so I just love all of them.”

Regarding his definition of the word success, Woodhall disclosed, “Having fun, enjoying it, getting to compete is a blessing, and being healthy. So, I just don’t take anything for granted.”
