Actor Jake Galluccio spoke with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about being a part of the 2026 New York Film & Entertainment Soccer Tournament (NYFEST), which was held at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 5.

The proceeds from this soccer tournament benefit youth development organizations. “It feels great to be here this morning,” he admitted. “The weather is great, the people are having a great time, and the water looks amazing — I’m thinking of jumping in afterward.”

“It is just such an honor to be here celebrating the youth, and raising awareness for the youth. It is going to be such a good time,” he noted.

“I am excited to see how it plays out… I’m not good at soccer but we will see,” he added.

Following the all-star soccer game, Galluccio’s team won, and he reflected on the win. “It was such a great feeling to get the win! I’m so glad I got to compete alongside some really cool people,” he exclaimed.

Regarding his overall experience at this year’s NYFEST, Galluccio remarked, “My overall experience with the event was incredible! I love being part of something with a good message and a good cause.”

“Mental health is a real thing and it’s nice to be involved in something that shows people, especially the youth, that they’re not alone in it. I didn’t expect to leave the event with new friends like I did at the soccer match. I look forward to keeping in touch with all of them and I hope we all get to be involved in an event like this again soon #mentalhealthawareness,” Galluccio elaborated.
