Trevor Donovan has officially signed on to the upcoming feature film “The Devil’s Train.” #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.
The casting brings major talent to the $50 million production. For Donovan, the project represents a wild convergence of high-octane action and cinematic storytelling. He steps into the role of Hondo, a time-traveling stuntman who goes toe-to-toe with the Devil in a gritty sci-fi and western mashup.
The project carries a serious pedigree for action fans. The film is heavily backed by the legendary group Stunts Unlimited, with action veteran and Stunts Unlimited member Jack Gill attached to direct and produce. The production is leaning into practical stunt work, honoring the legacy of the famous stunt group while pushing boundaries on screen.
A major highlight of the film is its collaboration with the Aussie Invader 5R land speed record team, bringing in NASA ICBM injectors to chase a top speed of 1000 MPH. The ambitious 16-week shoot is set to take place this fall, split between locations in Australia and Arizona.
The announcement comes during a remarkably busy season for the 43-year-old actor. Building a strong career that balances intense action with heartfelt storytelling, Donovan recently wrapped filming “Ethan Almighty” alongside Selma Blair and Sean Patrick Flanery.
The film chronicles the inspiring true story of Ethan, a severely neglected rescue dog whose miraculous recovery helped pass a law in Kentucky expanding the legal definition and punishment for animal abuse.
Donovan also completed production on season three of the hit series “When Hope Calls” and is officially signed on to return for season four. His fiercely loyal fanbase, affectionately known as DonoFans, continues to drive his projects online and support his expanding slate of roles.
Often recognized as the “King of Christmas” for his work on the Great American Family network, Donovan shows no signs of slowing down his holiday reign. He is gearing up to film his next highly anticipated Christmas movie in Winnipeg, Canada, later this summer.
“The Devil’s Train” is currently locking in its final script rewrite ahead of its fall production start.
