During Monday’s Loose Women, ITV host Ruth Langsford and the panel discussed their thoughts on companies that offer a “buy now, pay later” scheme. However, during the segment, the This Morning host recalled how she got into debt when she was younger after taking out a number of store cards so that she could buy clothes.
Discussing her experience with her co-stars, Ruth explained: “I remember at a very young age, when I got my first job, of getting into store card debt.
“So I remember going to Chelsea Girl as it was then, you’ll remember that, Jane [Moore].
“And just buying one thing. Then there was something on the counter that said, ‘You can have £200-worth of clothes right now for just £5 a month!’
“And I was working and I was like, ‘That’s good actually!’ So I said to her, ‘Can I do that today?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah.'”

Judi Love went on to point out with the cost of living increasing, it makes it harder for families to manage.
“The two areas that I think about is, how were we educated and how are we educated in regards to money management?
“Yes, you’ve got these things where you can pay monthly, but with the cost of living going up.
“We’ve already got services like social care that are limited to be able to support families.”
“And I think that is where my mind goes,” she added. “There is no shame in needing that help.
“But if you have got the cost of living going up and then you’ve got these services that are potentially on the brink.
“Then where are people going to get the help and support, and that is my real concern.”
“The first step is to admit that you are struggling,” Ruth went on to comment.
