Spider-Man No Way Home is perhaps the most anticipated Marvel film in the past few years. The third Spidey movie will see the return of Tom Holland as the titular hero, but this time he has some help. Rumour has it the web-head will be joined by previous Spider-Men actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, who are reprising their roles. With the film’s popularity already enormous, some impassioned fans have reportedly begun fighting over tickets.

In a clip posted on Twitter by @DiariodeMorelos, a collection of people can be seen brawling in what looks like a shopping mall.

A crowd of people can be seen outside a Mexican cinema chain, Cinépolis Pluus.

At least a dozen people can be seen throwing hands at one another, while other cinemagoers were dragged to the floor.

The Spanish account tweeted: “They were beaten at the cinema of #Cuernavaca by young people who wanted to get in line for the pre-sale of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the most anticipated film of the year. What do you think?”

At the moment it has not been confirmed the brawl was over ticket purchases, as there may have been more extenuating circumstances. Spider-Man No Way Home tickets went on sale on Monday – an event Disney and Sony dubbed Spider-Monday. The cinema tickets went on sale at 7am UK time and quickly began selling out country-wide. Shortly after the tickets went on sale in the USA, some business-minded fans began selling their confirmed seats for massive amounts.

As it is projected to be one of the biggest films of the year, there will certainly be more screenings available throughout December.

The last time Spider-Man was seen on screen was in 2019, with the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, so fans are very excited to see the hero make a comeback.

However, he may be doing it alone as both Holland and Maguire has denied any appearances from the previous Spider-Men in recent months.

Garfield recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where he was shown a reported photo of him on set with Maguire and Holland.

He explained: “I heard about [the photo]. And I did see it… and it’s a Photoshop. I’m trying to manage expectations! I’m just trying to manage expectations!”

He did say he would be open to a return, however, adding: “If they want to give me a call at this late, late stage in the game… you know I’m sitting here in my tracksuit.”

Spider-Man No Way Home hits cinemas on December 15.
