After months of speculation, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home delivered the return of Sony Peter Parker stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in a multiverse mash-up of epic proportions. Since its release less than a month ago, the Marvel movie has made almost $1.4 billion worldwide, making it the biggest movie of 2021 and the 12th highest-grossing movie of all time so far. But what’s most incredible is that what is now Sony’s most successful movie ever managed all this in a pandemic.

Bringing back five classic villains played by the likes of Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx will have helped no doubt.

But the fact that Sony managed to unite all three of its live-action Spider-Man actors in one movie surely is the main reason for No Way Home’s success.

After all, the rumours surrounding Maguire and Garfield’s return has been the biggest blockbuster hype since Avengers Endgame.

And now Sony sources are claiming that the studio wants both original Peter Parker stars back for more.

Take this with a pinch of salt, but Geekosity claims Sony have a team-up movie for Maguire and Garfield’s Web Slingers in the works called Spider-Men.

Allegedly without Holland, this would mean a non-MCU outing for the pair in an alternate universe like the one Tom Hardy’s Venom is set in.

The outlet claims Sony are ecstatic over the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home and since money talks it’s clear that fans want more of Maguire and Garfield.

There have also been rumours of Spider-Man 4 and The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and while these projects are not in any way confirmed, apparently “nothing is truly off the table”.

FandomWire, who scooped that all three Peter Parker actors would be in Spider-Man: No Way Home over a year ago, also reported around the same time that Maguire has a role in Doctor Strange 2.

The multiverse epic released on May 6 is already rumoured to feature cameos from Fox and Sony superhero characters who are not native to the MCU.

Marvel fans will remember that Doctor Strange was mentioned in Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, so maybe that’s the way in.

Whatever the case, it would be very surprising if Maguire and Garfield are now done playing their versions of Spider-Man.
