Virgin River season 3: Brady star speaks out on possibility of being Jack's shooter

The third season of Virgin River is hoped to pick up right where the last episode left off, with the identity of Jack Sheridan’s (played by Martin Henderson) shooter finally being revealed. After a recent clip added more fuel to the fire, Dan Brady star Ben Hollingsworth spilled a few secrets about his role in the upcoming instalment of the Netflix romance.

Ben Hollingsworth has shared some potential spoilers for the upcoming third season of Netflix’s hit small town drama, Virgin River.

His character Dan Brady was already high on the list of suspects after Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) discovered Jack had been shot in his own bar at the end of last year’s season finale.

An exchange between Brady and his crime lord boss Calvin (David Cubitt) released exclusively by TVLine also implied Jack’s old friend was behind the shooting.

In the run-up to season three’s release on Friday, July 9, Hollingsworth shared some more insight about his character in a recent interview with the same outlet.

The star confessed: “I’m pretty sure Brady is on everyone’s suspect list.”

Unfortunately, the actor didn’t touch on whether Calvin’s implication that Brady had pulled the trigger on Jack was actually true.

Even so, popular fan theories could definitely be on the right track, as Hollingsworth admitted he isn’t surprised that Brady is under suspicion.

He continued: “I wouldn’t be surprised if the fans are placing bets about who ended up shooting Jack — and I wonder what the over-under is on Brady.”

If the question of Jack’s shooter remains unanswered until Virgin River’s potential fourth season, Hollingsworth would prefer to think Brady isn’t as guilty as fans might think.

He teased: “I want to leave the possibility open that it could have been him, because it is possible.

“I’d like to believe that he didn’t, but that’s because I’m playing him. Being so close to him, I don’t believe he’s someone that would do that, regardless of his state of mind.”

However, he then conceded: “But it’s impossible not to make him a suspect.”

Brady’s status as the town outcast has already most of the locals against him and may have sent him down a path of self-destruction.

After turning to Calvin in desperation, he may already be in too deep to escape his chequered past, making him the perfect stooge for the crime lord to make a move against Jack.

Alternatively, Ben Hollingsworth also hinted he’ll be showing off his softer side in the upcoming season, so Brady could simply be revealed as a major red herring for the series.

Virgin River season 3 will be released on Friday, June 9 on Netflix.
