Craig David opens up on ‘tension’ at Harry and Meghan’s final appearance with royal family

    Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, which is scheduled to air on Saturday night, the singer recalled the “healing” moment he sang in front of the royals as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended an event with the family for a final time. Speaking on the  show, he described a moment the couple looked up at him as he performed.

    Prior to the couple’s move to the US and amid growing strain surrounding their dissatisfaction with the Royal Family, they appeared at Westminster Cathedral for a commonwealth celebration.

    In an interview set to air on Saturday’s Jonathan Ross Show, the 40-year-old described the significant moment.

    He stated: “2019 I performed at Westminster Cathedral… a lot of tension going on at that period of time; Harry and Meghan were there.

    “I went to sing for the Commonwealth celebrations, I remember walking up.

    He continued: “It’s got the talent element, different performers come on, sing one of their own [songs] if they want, or a cover. There’s a game show element, where they can win money.

    “£500,000 someone is going to be winning on that show.

    “It’s a Simon Cowell show. I love it that he asked me and let me feel part of the process. I think the premise of it’s great.”

    He teased:  “Someone definitely at the end will win £500,000.
