Forged in the Barrens is the next Hearthstone expansion to arrive on Android, iOS and Mobile, bringing with it new cards and Classic Deck options.

The good news is that it won’t be long before the latest content, including the new Tavern Pass and Diamond Cards, become unlockable.

Coming hot off the heels of Scholomance Academy and Madness at the Darkmoon Faire, players can look forward to 135 new cards, Ranked Spells, fresh Keywords and Legendary Mercenary Minions.

Forged in the Barrens is also the first expansion in the Year of the Gryphon, introducing the new Hearthstone Core Set, which replaces the existing Basic and Classic sets with a curated selection of 235 cards (including new and previously released cards).

Blizzard says that they are reinvigorating the game for both existing players and newcomers while also providing other features and options to the game in 2021.

Not only can gamers jump into the new core set but they can also find the latest Classic Format changes waiting for them, adding the Classic format leaderboards with the start of the Barrens expansion.

“The Year of the Gryphon will be yet another exciting and eventful year filled with new content and new experiences in Hearthstone,” said J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment.

“Forged in the Barrens will take us to a place straight out of World of Warcraft that’s dear to us and to many of our players, the new Core set will continue to shake up the game on an annual basis, and Hearthstone Mercenaries and the new Classic mode will introduce even more awesome ways to play.”

HEARTHSTONE FORGED IN THE BARRENS RELEASE DATE

As confirmed by Blizzard earlier in 2020, the Hearthstone Forged in the Barrens release date has been set for Tuesday, March 30, 2021.

Launch times may differ depending on where you live in the world, so some players may have to wait until March 31.

The Hearthstone Forged in the Barrens release time is expected to roll out across platforms at around 10am PT, on March 30, 2021.

For gamers in the UK, this would mean the next Hearthstone expansion going live at 6pm GMT, although delays are possible.

And it should be noted that while this is the expected launch schedule, Blizzard hasn’t shared a full guide on their plans yet, meaning things could shake out a little differently.
