She explained: “I would always say only have children because you really, really want to, not because you think it’s the right thing to do or it’s the next stage in your life. It’s a massive commitment.”
Kate said of the secret of having a strong marriage: “I think it’s because we’ve always given each other space.
“But as I say, I don’t know why our relationship has worked despite not having kids.
“It doesn’t mean that we don’t have days where you think, ‘Oh bloody hell, I’m going to go for a long walk on my own.’”
