At the moment, fans are awaiting the sixth instalment to the series, which could reintroduce Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) into the fold.
However, at the moment there is no word on whether Depp will be making a return to the series, following his public high court case against a British publication and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, over “wife-beater” allegations.
In the meantime, it has since been confirmed that a spin-off or series reboot is already in the development stages, with a brand new writer at the helm: Christina Hodson.
Hodson is best known for writing 2020’s Birds of Prey movie, which starred Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
