PlayStation Plus November free games: Good news for 2021 PS4 and PS5 subscribers

A new change has been made by Sony to one of its earlier 2021 PlayStation Plus free games.

The surprise upgrade was announced earlier this week and means that those subscribers who have collected the most recent releases can make sure they don’t miss out on any special updates.

Oddworld: Soulstorm was launched in April as part of PS Plus and continues the decade-old story of Abe and his enslaved Mudokons.

The game mechanics feature you playing the leader of the uprising as you recruit followers to your cause and solve puzzles with stealth and numbers on your side.

Soulstorm combines action-adventure platformer gameplay with a tale of a society on the brink of revolution, where your moment to moment in-game choices will impact its outcome, and there is more than one possible ending to experience.

When the game originally launched in 2021, it came with plenty of Mudokons to save but issues with bugs and AI.

Since then, improvements have been made and the best part is that a full Enhanced Edition of the game is set to arrive on PS4 and PS5 on November 30.

There will also be new content added to the game as part of the launch, with developer Microids confirming this week:

“Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition includes dramatically improved gameplay mechanics and motion code, audio balance improvements, seven additional months of polish, improved Slig and follower AI (more intelligent and responsive), as well as all previously released updates and brand-new content.

“Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition’s new content is a separate challenge game mode accessed via the main menu once you complete the game.

“PlayStation and Epic Games Store players will experience Toby’s Escape. Like Vykkers, it is a throwback to classic Oddworld gaming with short puzzle-filled levels to master. If you have played Soulstorm, you’ll know Toby from the train, but how did Toby escape RuptureFarms and become the train’s conductor…find out in Toby’s Escape.

“For the millions of gamers who already own Oddworld: Soulstorm on PS5, PS4, and Epic Games Store, you will receive the Enhanced Edition as a free update.”

So for everyone who claimed the PS5 version of Oddworld SoulStorm via PS Plus, the Enhanced Edition should be unlocked before the end of the month at no extra charge.

The only downside is that Oddworld was never released for free for PS4, and that means that this latest deal is locked to those who have SoulStorm on PlayStation 5.

New games will be announced by Sony for inclusion in PS Plus in December, with hundreds of PS4 games to choose from.

Sometimes they include new titles, while other times, they surprise everyone by adding a popular first-party exclusive from the past.

And for PS Plus December 2021, gamers believe they might choose to add another new game to the mix.

The past two months have already seen this happen, with Hell Let Loose and First Class Trouble offered as free games in October and November,

So could it be possible that Heavenly Bodies will be the next new game to make its debut via PlayStation Plus?

Fans are looking at this title as a serious contender for inclusion based on its release date, which has been set for December 7.
