Joel Dommett was due to speak to Ranvir Singh on Lorraine but the presenter, who’s stepped in for Lorraine Kelly this week, was stunned when she realised he had forgotten about his appearance on the ITV show. Competition king Andi Peters cheekily decided to ring Joel live on air to find out why he wasn’t ready to talk to Ranvir.
Ranvir explained ITV bosses had attempted to get hold of Joel but hadn’t had any luck.
Live on air, Andi attempted to ring Joel a couple of times before the presenter finally picked up his phone.
Ranvir said: “What would be lovely is if Joel Dommett came on the show. We are trying to talk to him about The Masked Singer this morning.
“He’s not answering his phone. So answer your phone Joel Dommett, if you know him go and give him a nudge.”
After crossing over to Andi’s garage for the competition, he said: “I’m going to call Joel Dommett, put it on speaker and see if he answers within three rings.”
“I tried ringing him but there’s nothing there,” Andi said before interrupting himself: “It’s ringing!”

“If he answers your phone I’m going to kick off honestly we’ve been trying to ring him for half an hour,” Ranvir said.
Joel picked up his phone as Andi warned: “You are live on ITV please do not swear.”
“Well this is very exciting, isn’t it?” Joel replied.
“Joel you were meant to be on Lorraine this morning, have you forgotten?” Andi asked.
“I thought it was later than this,” Joel explained and Andi added: “It’s about now so I’m going to put the phone down and ITV are going to call you cause you’re meant to be on the show.
“I’m in Christmas mode!” Joel reasoned. “I look so much better on television there than I do now.”
“I need to stop flirting with the men, it’s all I do according to the papers,” Ranvir joked.
“Should I go put a T-shirt on?” Joel cheekily asked before discussing the return of The Masked Singer on Boxing Day.
“What I loved about The Masked Singer, some of the people you didn’t know,” Ranvir said. “But it was the job of watching these crazy outfits, it sort of doesn’t matter who is underneath it.”
“Well I didn’t come up with the format but everyone enjoys it in a totally different way,” Joel said.
Once the interview had come to an end, Ranvir said: “Thank you so much for joining me.”
“I swear it was later,” Joel said but the host hit back: “It really wasn’t!”
“I always get confused, Lorraine then Loose Women which one is which,” Joel remarked. “I’m so sorry.”
“Are you going to put some clothes on?” Ranvir asked.
“No I’m like this till New Year,” The Masked Singer host quipped.
Later, Ranvir praised Andi for getting through to Joel and said: “Saviour to daytime TV, friend to the stars, if he calls you don’t ignore him.”
“That was brilliant, Joel what a great sport,” Andi replied.
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am.
