Xbox Series S console specs officially REVEALED ahead of November release date

Xbox Series S next-gen console specs have been revealed ahead of the November release date.

Microsoft’s budget next-gen console is 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X, but is also a lot cheaper, costing around £250 in the UK.

According to a leaked trailer (below), the Xbox Series S is a digital-only console, which means it won’t play discs.

Despite its cheaper cost, it can run games with a 1440p resolution at up to 120 frames-per-second.

It also supports DirectX Ray-tracing, and features variable rate shading and a variable refresh rate with ultra-low latency.

Elsewhere, the Xbox Series S features a custom 512 GB solid-state drive, which will probably need to be upgraded due to download sizes.

You also get 4K upscaling for games and media playback via streaming.

You can take a look at the design of the console and the official specs by checking out the trailer below…

Microsoft Xbox Series S next-gen console specs…

• All-Digital

• DirectX Raytracing

• Variable Rate Shading

• Variable Refresh Rate

• Ultra-low latency

• Custom 512 GB SSD

The biggest concern about the specs is the lack of storage space, especially with Halo Infinite likely to take up a huge chunk of the hard drive.

The upcoming Halo sequel is described as the biggest and most ambitious entry in the series yet.

This was evident during the recent gameplay demo, which saw Master Chief explore the lush open game world in the Warthog.

“Halo Infinite is the most ambitious Halo game ever made, with an environment several times larger than the last two Halo games combined.

“Players can explore an expansive landscape filled with sprawling natural wonder, mystery, and a story that welcomes those new to the franchise as well as continues the Master Chief’s saga for our most dedicated fans.”
