The first major update of the year for Clash of Clans will include Town Hall 14, which will include additional Tower Defence, Hero, and Troop levels.

Developers Supercell has confirmed that Clash of Clans Town Hall Level 14 will be Jungle-themed, complete with ancient pictograms and hieroglyphs.

And while plenty of stuff is getting upgraded, SuperCell has also announced what new features are coming in the Spring patch.

This will include Starter Challenges, which will make progressing between early Town Halls less grindy.

A message from Supercell explains: “Starter Challenges are a new way for players between Town Hall 2-6 to speed up their progress through a variety of Challenges similar to the Silver/Gold Pass.

“These new Challenges are unlocked with each Town Hall level and completing each Challenge will provide more Challenges to complete.

“There are some deliciously tempting rewards that can be earned on the Starter Pass. From Rune of Gold to a Book of Building, the Starter Pass reward track has up to 5000 points for players to complete.

“Once a player upgrades to Town Hall 7, all unclaimed rewards are automatically collected. When claiming a resource reward if the player only has enough storage space for some of the reward they can now take whatever amount of the reward will fit and some gems. The amount of gems scales from a max 5 down to 1 based on what proportion of the resources were taken. E.g. if a player takes 20% of resources they will receive 4 gems (80% of 5).”

Other early game changes are being made to help Villages grow faster, with a series of reductions for various upgrade times and upgrade costs.

This will include the following upgrades:

Reduced Training Times

Ice Golem: 360 seconds → 300 seconds

Witch: 360 seconds → 240 seconds

Super Witch: 1200 seconds → 800 seconds

Wall cost reduction

Level 12 Wall: 3M Gold/Elixir → 2M Gold/Elixir

Level 13 Wall: 5M Gold/Elixir → 4M Gold/Elixir

Meanwhile, at the other end of the scale, here is what will be unlocking with Town Hall 14:

Upgrading to Town Hall 14 unlocks

25x Wall pieces

1x Air Bomb

1x Seeking Air Mine

1x Skeleton Trap

1x Bomb

1x Giant Bomb

New Defense/Building/Trap Levels

Level 12 Laboratory

Level 10 Clan Castle

Level 15 Gold Storage

Level 15 Elixir Storage

Level 9 Dark Elixir Storage

Level 20 Cannon

Level 13 Hidden Tesla

Level 9 Bomb Tower

Level 8 Inferno Tower

Level 5 Eagle Artillery

Level 3 Scattershot

Level 10 Bomb

Level 15 Wall

New Hero Levels

Barbarian King Level 80 → Iron Fist Level 16

Archer Queen Level 80 → Royal Cloak Level 16

Grand Warden Level 55 → Eternal Tome + Life Aura Level 11

Royal Champion Level 30 → Seeking Shield Level 6

We don’t know exactly when this new Clash of Clans update is going to be available to download but with this news being shared now, we could see something announced between April 12 and 14.

More news is being shared later today, which could mean a big launch reveal for Clash of Clans fans.

(Why?)

Sandie Shaw now: The barefoot British Eurovision champion who was a star at 17

Sandie Shaw performs on Eurovision in 1967

Not only was Sandie Shaw the first-ever British winner of the Eurovision Song Contest, when Puppet On A String topped the UK charts it made her the first British female singer ever to have three number one records. She was only 20 at the time and, shockingly, her manager was already regarding her as a pop has-been ready for a TV light entertainment makeover. The 1960s were a brutal time for teenage female singers. Two years later, Lulu would follow her down the Eurovision path at exactly the same age. No wonder they both have very mixed feelings about the Contest.

<div class=”box two-related-articles clear”>

Related articles

When she was 17, Sandra Ann Goodrich came second in a talent contest at the Ilford Palais in Essex and the prize was to appear at a London charity contest. Singer Adam Faith, already a huge star, was there and recommended her to his manager Eve Taylor, who repackaged her as Sandie Shaw and got her a record deal.

Her second single, a cover of (There’s) Always Something There to Remind Me, was a number one smash, followed by number three hit Girl Don’t Come and another number one, Long Live Love, in June 1965.

She also released music across Europe, singing in French, Italian, German and Spanish, which would come in handy a few years later.

Sandie was still only 18, but her gamine looks, trademark fringe, barefoot bohemia (actually the result of ‘inherited misshapen feet) and natural style made her an instant “It girl” and fashion icon.

READ MORE: <a data-link-tracking=”InArticle|Link” href=”https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/music/1418646/Freddie-Mercury-cat-names-how-many-Delilah-Oscar-Mary-Austin-home-Garden-Lodge-die” data-name=”Freddie Mercury cats: Incredible pics of last days in bed with Delilah” target=”_blank”>Freddie Mercury cats: Incredible last-ever picture of Queen star shows him in bed with Delilah

<div class=”photo changeSpace”>
<picture> <img class=”lazy” src=”https://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/35/590x/Sandie-Shaw-then-and-now-1420722.jpg?r=1617924471416″ alt=”Sandie Shaw then and now” width=”590″ height=”350″></picture>
Sandie Shaw then and now (Image: GETTY)
<div class=”photo changeSpace”>
<picture> <img class=”lazy” src=”https://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/35/590x/secondary/Sandie-Shaw-with-Adam-Faith-in-1964-2993398.jpg?r=1617924471462″ alt=”Sandie Shaw with Adam Faith in 1964″ title=”Sandie Shaw with Adam Faith in 1964″ width=”590″ height=”492″></picture>
Sandie Shaw with Adam Faith in 1964 (Image: GETTY)
<div class=”photo changeSpace”>
<picture> <img class=”lazy” src=”https://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/35/590x/secondary/Sandie-Shaw-in-1965-aged-18-2993393.jpg?r=1617924471531″ alt=”Sandie Shaw in 1965 aged 18″ title=”Sandie Shaw in 1965 aged 18″ width=”590″ height=”738″></picture>
Sandie Shaw in 1965 aged 18 (Image: GETTY)
<div class=”clear rma” readability=”15.432352941176″>

She was part of the trendsetting in-crowd in London and was horrified when Taylor brought up the subject of Eurovision.

Even in the 1960’s, Eurovision was regarded with wariness by serious musicians and Sandie had ambitions to write and produce, and to develop a more progressive sound.

However, her personal life had suddenly plunged her into notoriety and she was coerced into taking part.

In 1966, the teenager was named in the divorce proceedings of television executive Douglas Murdoch and his model wife Veronica Sands.

Murdoch produced the music show Ready Steady Go! Despite Sandie personally thinking it was ridiculous, Puppet On A String won by a landslide and she was packed off to compete in Vienna.

On the night, there was even a mishap with her microphone at the start of the song but the Essex lass explained why she refused to let anything, from technical problems to her own feelings about the song, stand in her way.

DON’T MISS
<a data-link-tracking=”InArticle|Link” href=”https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/music/1397523/Tom-Jones-The-Voice-John-Lennon-Welsh-The-Beatles-Elvis-music-Paul-McCartney” data-name=”Tom Jones: ‘John Lennon called me a Welsh p**f and I nearly hit him'” target=”_blank”>Tom Jones: ‘John Lennon called me a Welsh p**f and I nearly hit him’
<a data-link-tracking=”InArticle|Link” href=”https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/music/1419594/Elvis-Presley-Graceland-upstairs-Graceland-attic-entrance-Elvis-cousin-Billy-Smith” data-name=”Elvis Presley: Graceland attic entrance described by The King’s cousin” target=”_blank”>Elvis Presley: Graceland secret attic entrance described by The King’s cousin
<a data-link-tracking=”InArticle|Link” href=”https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/films/1419296/Honor-Blackman-Avengers-James-Bond-girl-Pussy-Galore-Sean-Connery-died-married” data-name=”Honor Blackman: Bond Girl was ‘no bimbo’ and a match for Sean Connery ” target=”_blank”>Honor Blackman: Bond Girl was ‘no bimbo’ and a match for Sean Connery

<div class=”p402_hide htmlappend”>
<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/4xnzPnyyWbY” title=”YouTube video player” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen>[embedded content]

<div class=”photo changeSpace”>
<picture> <img class=”lazy” src=”https://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/35/590x/secondary/Sandie-Shaw-in-1966-2993394.jpg?r=1617924471687″ alt=”Sandie Shaw in 1966″ title=”Sandie Shaw in 1966″ width=”590″ height=”738″></picture>
Sandie Shaw in 1966: Her feet made wearing shoes uncomfortable (Image: GETTY)

If you watch the video, you will see that the microphone is not switched on when she starts singing.

Sandie later said: “I was so focused on delivering the best performance for the UK that I would have carried on even if the stage collapsed!
