The Direct Drive cleaner head is powered from the main battery cell and its motorised mechanism is designed to remove grime buried deep in your carpets. There’s the so-called Crevice Tool to reach behind furniture or race along skirting boards, while the mini-motorised head is great for quick clean-ups, staircases, and car interiors.

As you’d expect with a Dyson cordless vacuum, there’s a charging dock to mount on your wall. The V10 Absolute Pro, which has a 0.76-litre dust bin capacity – enough that you won’t have to keep emptying after every room, takes around 3.5-hours to charge from flat.

If you want something a little flashier, the Dyson V11 Absolute packs the same 60-minute battery life, but includes three different modes: Eco, Auto, and Boost. For those who want to eke as much as possible from the lithium-ion battery, this model – with Eco mode – is an absolute must.

Unlike the Dyson V10 above, the V11 Absolute monitors system performance around 8,000 times a second and reports its findings in real-time on a built-in LCD screen at the back of the dust bin.
