Star Wars theory: Rey’s Skywalker connection 'proven' by Luke’s lost hand

The shocking revelation that Rey Skywalker (Daisy Ridley) was actually a descendant of Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) stunned fans. To make matters even more devastating, The Rise of Skywalker brought the Skywalker lineage to an end with the death of Ben Solo (Adam Driver) when he sacrificed himself to resurrect Rey. Since then, fans have been questioning whether the Skywalker gene will ever truly come back. The latest issue of the Star Wars: Darth Vader comic book points towards Rey being a Skywalker all along.

The comic book, which concluded this week, finished with a shot of Darth Vader exploring Exogol in an attempt to find out Palpatine’s secrets.

The story takes place after The Empire Strikes Back but before Return of the Jedi, so Darth Vader still served Palpatine at the time.

Exogol is the planet where the Emperor was resurrected in The Rise of Skywalker, and also where the villain housed his Snoke clones.

The last panel of the comic book showed Darth Vader discovering a hand floating in liquid.

While it isn’t confirmed, this hand is most likely Luke’s hand from when his father chopped it off in The Empire Strikes Back.

The presence of Luke’s hand says a lot about the sequel trilogy and may hold secrets to Rey’s lineage.

The Jedi warrior came into existence after Palpatine fathered a clone daughter, who went on to give birth to Rey before hiding her away.

However, the various failed versions of Snoke that can be seen throughout Exogol prove that his attempts to clone himself didn’t go perfectly.

According to alleged leaks, Rey will return in upcoming Star Wars Disney Plus shows in the next few years.

YouTuber Mike Zeroh recently claimed Rey will give birth to a son, Cade Skywalker, who will become the most powerful Jedi in the universe.

Some further news about the next step in the Star Wars universe is expected next week to coincide with its annual event May The Fourth Be With You.

To celebrate this event Disney Plus have honoured the “creativity and artistry” of the Star Wars community by featuring some commissioned original artwork on the front page of the streaming site.

Lucasfilm and Disney Plus teamed up with an artist for each film in the nine-movie saga, creating unique pieces for each adventure. One art piece will be posted per day until May The Fourth.

Jerrell B Himerson, Executive Vice President of Products and Design at Disney Plus, said: “We are constantly challenging ourselves to create experiences that engage fans more deeply and creatively with the Disney Plus user interface.

“Whenever they open the app, we want viewers to feel like they are entering a truly unique Disney experience. For this year’s May the 4th, we teamed up with Lucasfilm to celebrate the fans that make this day possible by showcasing multiple pieces of impressive fan art created by the Star Wars community on Disney Plus.”
