The Masked Singer: Traffic Cone’s identity rumbled as Aled Jones by friend Russell Watson

The Masked Singer is heating up each week on ITV as the judges continue to guess the identity of the celebrities wearing outlandish disguises. Fans have been eager to discover who is underneath the Traffic Cone costume following Saturday night’s episode, and opera singer Russell Watson told Good Morning Britain viewers he was convinced his good friend – and fellow singer – was the person behind the mask.

Russell appeared on Wednesday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain via a video link where he discussed The Masked Singer with hosts Susanna Reid and Adil Ray.

Fans of the ITV show have been speculating Russell is the Traffic Cone after viewers were convinced the performance this week sounded identical to the English tenor.

However, after Russell was played a clip of the Traffic Cone singing during his interview on Good Morning Britain he was seen shaking his head and smiling.

Aled has kept tight-lipped on social media regarding rumours circulating that he’s the Traffic Cone.

Could this mean his friend Russell’s guess is correct?

However, the bookies believe the Traffic Cone could be a singer who rose to fame in the 1980s.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Morten Harket tried to fool judges last year by covering his own song while being disguised as Viking, and the latest odds suggest Rick Astley could be pulling a similar stunt this time out as Traffic Cone.”
