She continued: “We take all of that data and we look at that and we look at the testing and the positivity rates there.
“We then send that off to Genome Sequencing, the best in the world which tells us if there is a variant of concern.
“It tells us if there is a new variant, first of all, and there wasn’t an identification for India.
“There wasn’t a new variant but then it says, is there a variant of concern, a variant of concern that could in fact have very high transmissibility.”
