Xbox Series X UK stock update: Amazon restocking next after Smyths surprise?

    148

This week has seen a sporadic number of Xbox Series X restock events peppered across different UK retailers.

The latest update came from Smyths, who offered a limited Xbox Series X/S stock update on Tuesday, only to sell out very quickly.

Microsoft struggles to keep up with demand and isn’t expected to get on top of the problem until later this year.

At the heart of the problem is production, and it appears it will take several months before the supply of the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles will keep up with the number of consumers who want to buy one.

In the meantime, gamers have to keep track of every new Xbox Series X UK stock update as best they can.

And while we don’t know who might be next to offer stock, there are hopes it could be a very well-known internet giant.

This week, Amazon has been offering next-gen restocks across European countries, with the Xbox Series S still available to buy from the French store.

And with Amazon UK absent from the current list, that might mean an Xbox Series stock update is coming our way.

This could mean either console – Xbox Series X or Series S – could be back available to buy in the UK this week.

This should be taken as a prediction for now, as we have no certain way of knowing what Amazon UK has planned.

And like the recent Smyths restock, another retailer could ultimately be the next to restock on Xbox consoles.

GAME has been one of the most frequent, although they don’t have any consoles to offer right now.

Other stores that have seen frequent updates is the Microsoft Store, which also offers deals on Xbox All Access.

Gamers could also get lucky this week with other next-gen consoles being released from UK retailers.

Amazon recently shipped out a small number of PS5 consoles, with Argos and Very reportedly dropping stock today.

Very is expected to see a PS5 stock go live on its website between 10am and 1pm today. So if you can find yourself an Xbox Series X, it might be worth checking out some other options.

As you might expect, competition trying to buy a PlayStation 5 console is just as fierce and will likely prove just as difficult as buy a Microsoft gaming machine.

Microsoft has also shared hints about what they have planned for their new consoles, with Xbox’s director of program management, Jason Ronald, commenting this week:

“We’ve got a lot of really exciting things that are coming down the pipeline over the coming months and over the coming years.

“At launch, we say it all the time internally, this is really just the beginning.

“We really are excited as we get further into the year and closer to this holiday to start sharing more of the details about what’s in development.”
