If you fancy treating yourself to a new TV then it might be worth a look at what Argos has to offer. The UK retailer has just announced an exclusive sale which is slashing the price of some Roku-powered Hisense smart TVs.
For those that might not have heard of Roku, this streaming firm makes it easy to tune into a swathe of content from providers such as Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and Sky’s NOW service.
Roku usually sells separate devices to access this premium content but it has also handed over its software to Chinese tech firm Hisense. That means these new tellies offer access to popular platforms straight from the TV screen without the need for a dongle or additional set-top box.
The exclusive offer from Argos means you can currently pick one of these clever TVs up at a discounted price. The 43-inch full 4K HDR (High Dynamic Range) model for just £279 – saving £50.
If you want something bigger in your living room then there’s also the 50-inch version for £349 – saving £50 or the 65-inch screen for £499 – saving £50.
Hisense is boasting that these Roku-powered tellies offer over 150,000 movies, TV shows and top sporting action from Sky and BT Sport.
Of course, you will need to pay a monthly subscription fee to watch Disney+, Netflix, Prime, BT and Sky but there is also plenty of free TV via Freeview Play.
This service offers access to over 20,000 hours of content which is both live and on-demand.
One final bonus of these Hisense sets is that they feature Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant integration, so you can easily search for your favourite entertainment and even turn your TV on and off with your voice.
It’s not just Argos cutting prices this Bank Holiday weekend with Currys also offering some big discounts.
Currys says it is offering savings up to 86 percent across brands such as Google, Beats, Samsung and Beko in its Epic Deals events, and for categories such as Computing, Smart Home, White Goods and
Savings including £200 off the Samsung 75” Smart 4K Ultra HD QLED TV with Bixby, Alexa and Google Assistant.
