BBC weatherman taken off air during forecast with Naga forced to ‘fill in the blanks’
Back in September, the weather presenter was left hugely red-faced when he offered his take on the music made by singer Rick Astley, 54.
Charlie asked Matt if he was a fan of the music icon, to which the latter replied: “Er, not a massive one.”
He didn’t realise the singer was listening in and the news anchor told him: “Well that was the wrong thing to say. He’s listening and coming up in just a moment. I’ll ask you again, are you a Rick Astley fan?”
Trying to make a U-turn on his earlier comments, the meteorologist said: “Oh, I’m sorry. Love Rick Astley, the best. Grew up with him.”
