Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda and Clive Owens don't own Ravenseat estate

Millions of viewers have tuned in to watch Amanda and Clive Owens at their Yorkshire farm since the show launched in 2018. The couple have lived at Ravenseat for more than 20 years and have gone on to have nine children – some of who were born at the farm. But the Ravenseat estate is actually owned by billionaire Robert Miller who is the co-founder of DFS (Duty Free Shops).

Mr Miller is an American-born entrepreneur but now lives in Hong Kong, leaving Amanda and Clive to take care of the land on his behalf.

Amanda and Clive continue to proudly farm and tend to animals in the same way as it would have been done hundreds of years prior.

The 2,000-acre farm is located in North Yorkshire in Upper Swaledale.

The land is around an hour walk west of Keld.

According to Amanda’s website, Yorkshire Shepherdess, there is an option to either stay at Shepherd Hut which is for a maximum of two people, or The Firs which is the six-bedroom farmhouse.

A stay at Shepherds Hut will set visitors back £60 for single occupancy and £175 per night at The Firs.

Amanda is not currently accepting bookings due to the coronavirus pandemic but is expected to resume at a later date.

Our Yorkshire Farm airs every Tuesday at 9pm on Channel 5.
