He added that the work that had gone into developing the vaccines showed the positive effects of international cooperation in combating global problems, such as the climate crisis.
“It (the virus) has drawn attention to the fact we aren’t as omnipotent and all-controlling as we think we are,” he told the paper.
The pandemic may have kept the icon indoors for much of 2020, but it hasn’t stopped him from continuing his work to get the world to act on climate change.
Speaking on life at home, Attenborough said: “I’ve seen the world go by in the natural world in my garden with a continuity and intensity that I haven’t been able to give it for, almost forever, really.”
